Over the years, dozens and dozens of critically-acclaimed movies have been filmed in Chicago, but which are the 30 best ones?
Chicago has rapidly become one of the most desirable locations to film movies in. We may not have the mega studios like Los Angeles does, but producers will travel to the midwest to shoot their films. Chicago is the third largest city in the United States, and because of that, there are plenty of different neighborhoods and sites to use. From grit to glamor, suburban to urban, there’s something in the “Second City” for every type of movie.
The following is a list of the 30 best movies that were filmed in and around Chicago. You won’t find movies only had a scene or two filmed in the city. Ratings on both iMDB and Rotten Tomatoes were both addressed to help along the way, in what is a highly subjective list. Let’s get started!
