The days are getting longer and warmer, so you know what that means. It’s time to hit the road. Summer vacations are a thing and there’s analysis that predicts this will be yet another heavy season of travel as the world continues to move further away from the global pandemic. Both the East and West coasts are popular travel destinations, each with its own attractions and vibes. Starting with the East Coast, these are three cities that should be on your travel list this year.

Washington, DC

Washington DC may not sit at the front of travelers’ minds when it comes to summer destinations, but it’s a city worth visiting, especially during the summer. Spending a day at all the major monuments isn’t the only thing that makes this trip a worthwhile excursion. There are tons of events held around the District every day – many of them offering free attendance. DC also boasts a strong food culture with not only major restaurants in the city, but many small family establishments that have some of the best food and drink around.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Just like Washington DC, Philadelphia Pennsylvania is an important city in the country’s development. That alone makes it an interesting city to visit, but there are several attractions and locations within that would surprise people going for the first time. Also, Philadelphia hosts several big events during the summer across all genres that would be worth a visit. And do not sleep on the Philly food scene. Everyone knows about cheesesteaks, but the variety of restaurants and offerings in this city goes well beyond and becomes a unique flavor.

New York City, New York

New York City has nearly everything you could want for your summer vacation. Great shopping, excellent food, bustling nightlife, easy transportation system, everything. Yes, prices will certainly soar and continue to soar, but if this city is within the budget, then it is a must visit for anyone looking to travel on the East Coast. Of course, you can hit all the well-known attractions like the Statue of Liberty, and a variety of museums, but there are also plenty of smaller locations that should be on your itinerary. It doesn’t matter what may interest you, there’s something in New York City that will hold your attention.

Getting time away is an important part of self-care for many, plus it’s always an exciting experience. These three cities on the East Coast are worth a visit in 2023 and in the years to come.
